The main goals for this corporate training room were to provide large, high-quality displays that are easily viewable from anywhere in the room, as well as to integrate the customer's Lenovo equipment that runs Microsoft Teams software. In addition, the customer wanted a scheduling touch panel so that the room can be reserved. Finally, it was a big priority to keep the room as free from clutter as possible, so we made some additions and accommodations that allowed all wiring to be hidden and equipment off the tables.
The two screens that are the main focal point of the room are each 86" commercial-rated displays. We put sliding equipment shelves behind the TV mounts to allow easy access to the equipment that we placed behind the screens.
To further ensure that the equipment and wiring was concealed, we added a 6" connectivity box with electrical outlets and USB charging outlets. We also added a retractable HDMI cable to provide quick access for laptop connections, and a USB cable to connect the Lenovo touchscreen that runs the Teams software. Instead of having microphones that sit tabletop, we placed a Shure in-ceiling microphone array in the center of the room for good audio pickup. A Microsoft Teams-certified Shure DSP along with an audio amplifier was installed to properly tune the room's audio characteristics and power the existing in-ceiling speakers.
Finally, we installed a 10" in-wall scheduling touch panel with an integrated ceiling indicator to notify users of upcoming scheduling, as well as provide a user-friendly interface for scheduling walk-up meetings. An occupancy sensor was placed to detect room movement and report to the touch panel to reflect the status change.
