Management Conference Room
Control system upgrade with enhanced AV capabilities
About This Project
In this management conference room, our client needed a control system upgrade, as well as some other general updates to equipment in the room.
We started by replacing the existing processor with a new Crestron processor that could handle the control requirements for the new, updated A/V system. We were able to keep the client's existing Crestron touchscreen, but we adjusted the interface so it would be compatible with the new functionality of the room. We then updated the network equipment so everything could properly communicate with each other.
For audio/video, we upgraded the existing Crestron system to a 4K-capable video-over-IP system that can distribute many video sources. In this case, the client needed to distribute 11 potential sources to the two large projectors. These sources range from a Blu-Ray player to an AppleTV, among others. For audio, we installed 9 new 70V, 6" in-ceiling speakers for improved sound quality. We also installed 12 new omnidirectional microphones to use during teleconferencing or videoconferencing sessions. We then put in a digital mixer to provide audio mixing of all the microphones with source audio, as well as to provide a teleconferencing interface with an analog phone line.
Other enhancements we made to update the room included installing a new equipment rack, with the new one having the capability to slide out and rotate for easier accessibility. When we put the equipment in the new rack, we added fans for cooling and power conditioners to allow power outlets to be rebooted remotely, eliminating downtime. We also added lighting to the podium, and we replaced the projectors with newer, high powered laser projectors that we calibrated and programmed to the new Crestron system.
