Lead Technician

Hourly | Full-timeChattanooga, TN$28–$32/hr depending on experience and certifications

This Chattanooga based lead technician supervises a team of field technicians and works with a project manager and project engineer to successfully install audio, video and control systems in residential and commercial settings.

Verify all of the drawings, code, site pictures, and job description are complete and you have access to them

Make certain all cables, connectors, hardware and tools needed to complete the project are available and collected

Inventory and deliver all equipment to the job site

Complete walk through of the site with the PM and go over all details of the installation

Verify working times and access to the workspace

Rack construction, pulling cable, and preparing equipment for installation

Installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors and related submounts

Assists with testing of system components to assure system completeness

Uses company approved installation methods and techniques

Assures each system's physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings

Maintain an on-going dialog with Lead Installation Technician and Project Manager, ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations

Turning in daily activity sheets

Comply with all aspects of the Employee Handbook, Installation Handbook, and all other Directives

Current CEDIA or Infocomm/AVIXA CTS certification or equivalent

Advanced networking knowledge

Advanced AV system troubleshooting skills

Crestron / Control4 / AMX configuration and programming skills

Minimum 3 years experience installing audio-visual, teleconferencing, corporate video, control systems and related systems

This Chattanooga based field technician works with a lead technician, project manager and project engineer to successfully install audio, video and control systems in residential and commercial settings.

Rack construction, pulling cable, and preparing equipment for installation

Maintains and administers computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations

Installation of completed racks, projectors, monitors and related submounts

Assists with testing of system components to assure system completeness

Uses company approved installation methods and techniques

Assures each system's physical completeness is in accordance with installation drawings

Sales Engineer

Salary | Full-timeChattanooga, TNSalary plus commision (expect $50K-$75K first year)

Serving the Chattanooga, TN and Tri-State Area since 2002, Smart Systems is a locally owned and operated company that designs, builds, integrates, manages, and supports custom Residential and Commercial systems that provide audio/video, lighting, temperature control, automation, networking, security, access control, and CCTV collaboration solutions.

This is a full-time position. Candidate must be comfortable working with assigned sales leads, as well as creating target lists and identifying prospects by networking, cold-calling, or other applicable means of generating interest from potential customers. This role includes exploring and defining customer needs along with conveying the unique value provided by Smart Systems. Customers will range from small residential projects to large commercial enterprises.

This is a full-time position located in Hixson, Tennessee (37343)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years experience selling or designing Audio/Video installations in residential and commercial environments.

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and group presentation skills.

  • Extreme interest in technology and selling technology solutions.

  • High degree of business professionalism and sound business judgment.

  • Capacity to work efficiently, prioritize tasks, and achieve results through both observation and active listening skills.

  • Reputation for reliability, integrity, honesty, and high standards of personal character.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical and creative information along with overcoming any sales or engineering obstacles that arise.

Working with customers to balance product desires with design requirements and incorporating all facets into designing the best system for their space and vision.

Creating a detailed proposal outlining all aspects and components of system design.

Developing engineering documentation that ensures all pertinent information related to each proposal is recorded so that Project Managers will be able to install the project as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Communicating with the customer consistently to check-in, answer any questions, and keep them informed on updates and progress.

5+ years in Audio/Video Sales or Design
