Finley Stadium Press Box

The press box at Finley Stadium doubles as the command center on game day, the room where operations staff watch the field, the broadcast, and their own screens at once. The stadium asked us to reorganize its displays around a laptop docking station so that any staff member could bring a machine, dock it, and have the room's screens follow.

The existing wall-mounted television was reused and connected to the dock over a long HDMI run from the column at the second landing, with low-profile power conditioning behind it. The ceiling television that had hung from the soffit was taken down and re-hung from the ceiling tile in front of the window, and two 55-inch televisions that came out of the Ultra Club were installed beside it on new ceiling hardware, each on its own HDMI run from the dock. A single low-profile power conditioner behind the center screen powers all three.

The two 55-inch screens were freed up by the second half of the project: in the Ultra Club, they were replaced by a pair of 75-inch Sony 4K displays on the side wall, reusing the existing mounts, video connections, and power conditioning. An antenna distribution system was added to the club's equipment rack so the two single-channel wireless microphone systems share the existing high-powered antenna, with adapters to allow more microphones later.

It is a small project by stadium standards, and a good example of the kind of work a venue relationship produces: reuse what still works, move it where it is needed, and make the room simpler to run.
