Country Club Restaurant Expansion
Multi-zone dining AV for a country club venue
About This Project
When a private country club expanded its dining and bar spaces, the audio and video had to cover a bar, a bar patio, a living-room lounge, a private dining room, and the hallways between them, each running independently but managed from one rack. The result is a venue where the staff change channels and music from wall-mounted touch screens and the guests never see a piece of equipment.
The bar is the centerpiece: three 75-inch commercial Sony displays high on the entry wall on tilt mounts, two 65-inch displays on articulating mounts in the corner opposite, six JBL in-ceiling speakers in the soffit, and a Sonos Port for streaming music. A 7-inch Crestron touch screen controls channel selection on every television and which audio plays in the bar and on the bar patio, where eight more JBL in-ceiling speakers and their own Sonos Port keep the outdoor seating covered. Axis cameras watch the patio.
The living room got its eight on-wall speakers reinstalled in their original locations with a touch screen on the back wall for volume and music. The private dining room was built to function like the club's ballroom: six JBL in-ceiling speakers and a subwoofer, a wireless microphone system with a handheld and a lavalier, a Bluetooth pairing button so a member can play from a phone, an input for a future television, and a Biamp Tesira DSP mixing it all, controlled from a 7-inch wall panel. Four more speakers cover the hallway and nook, and the existing foyer speakers were tied into the main hallway feed.
All of it lands in a new, larger rack in the coat closet, where the old hallway rack was consolidated: a Crown eight-channel amplifier, a Crestron CP4 processor, video distribution over IP, power conditioning, a UPS, and a fiber link back to the club's main network closet. Point-of-sale cabling and three new wireless access point locations were run at the same time.
