Lawson Electric Headquarters

When Lawson Electric built its new headquarters in Hixson, the company wanted conference rooms that its own electricians and project managers could walk into and use, with video conferencing, wireless presentation, room scheduling, and lighting on one touchscreen. We fitted out three conference rooms and the reception area.

Conference 103, the boardroom, is built around a 2x2 video wall of four 55-inch NEC ultra-thin-bezel displays. Two table boxes provide HDMI inputs, a Kramer VIA device handles wireless presentation, and the company's micro PC, a streaming player, and the table inputs can be sent to any screen or stretched across the whole wall. Four Biamp Parlé ceiling microphones, a Biamp DSP and amplifier, six ceiling speakers, and an AVer PTZ camera with five programmed presets serve video calls on whatever platform the meeting uses. A Kramer touchscreen on the table controls the room, a Crestron scheduling panel with a light bar and occupancy sensor sits outside the door, three lighting scenes and the window shades are on the touchscreen, and a digital signage player shows the company's logo and videos when the room is idle.

Conference 211 has an 86-inch NEC commercial display, and Conference 217 has two; both follow the same pattern with two ceiling microphones, four speakers, a PTZ camera, a Kramer table touchscreen, and a Crestron scheduling panel, plus Yealink Teams room panels. Sliding component shelves behind the displays keep the electronics accessible.

Every room's electronics can be rebooted from a phone or PC app by the customer or by our support team, and the equipment sits in the company's IT closet on a Netgear AV switch, which is how an electrical contractor's office should be wired: cleanly, and by people who will be back to service it.
