Riverside Executive Conference Room
Video conferencing upgrade for executive-level hybrid meetings
About This Project
The purpose of this conference room upgrade was to make it more video-conferencing friendly. We were able to utilize much of the customer's existing equipment and add some devices to bring them up to date with the latest in video conferencing.
We kept the customer's Sony TVs, as they would continue to serve as the room's primary viewing displays. We also kept the soundbars under the TVs to continue to provide audio to the room. The wireless presentation device was also retained, as it didn't need upgrading in order to present wirelessly.
The equipment we brought in included a video conferencing codec, along with a camera placed at the front of the room, which, together allowed users to participate in video conferencing sessions. The interface on the touchscreen was then modified to allow users to place and control conference calls directly from the touchscreen. Users simply have to select which source they want to view on the TVs. During presentations, the TVs can display the same content, but a user can also choose from the touchscreen to display different content on each screen.
Adjacent to the tabletop touchscreen, we replaced the table box with a larger one that features a gravity-fed retractable HDMI cable, USB-C cable, USB charging ports, power, and data. We added a second table box at the opposite end of the table to provide power and USB charging ports.
Lastly, we placed an occupancy sensor inside the room to improve energy efficiency, detecting when the room is empty, and turning off accordingly.
