Comic Filled Game Room
Memorabilia-rich game room with immersive audio
About This Project
In our customer's unique, memorabilia-filled lower living room and game room areas, our goal was to improve the quality of the audio, install new TVs that were provided by the homeowner, and integrate the rooms with the same control system that would run the rest of the home.
To achieve these goals, we installed a Sonos surround sound system that utilized in-ceiling speakers that we cut in, a playbar that we installed under the TV that hangs over the fireplace, and a subwoofer.
To control the three spaces downstairs that encompass this living area, including the bar, game room, and living room, we used the same Control4 system that is in place throughout the whole house. We integrated the TVs, the audio, the lighting, and the thermostat to all be run by Control4 through the use of SR260 handheld remote controls. The customer also had devices that they provided that we integrated, such as AppleTVs and Blu-Ray players. Everything works together in Control4 so that one remote manages all the functions of the rooms.
This area is a good example of a project in which the client provides some equipment, and we supply the rest. We never replace equipment when it is not necessary-only when it is called for. If outdated equipment slows the overall performance of the home, we will always recommend upgrades, but we are happy to work with clients and their existing tech when possible. Here it worked seamlessly.
