What an AV upgrade covers
- An inventory of what is there: displays, projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, racks, touch panels and wiring, and which of them can stay.
- Displays and projection: plasma and older LCD displays replaced with 4K panels, laser projectors calibrated to existing screens, and new screens fitted to existing screen casings.
- Control: aging processors replaced with current Crestron or Control4 systems, existing touch panels and iPads reprogrammed, and occupancy sensing that shuts the room down.
- Audio and conferencing: new DSPs and amplifiers on existing ceiling speakers and microphones, and rooms brought up to Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
- Video walls and venues: monitor walls replaced with larger video walls, and stadium sound systems replaced with existing amplifiers put back to work.

No. Each upgrade on this page kept what still worked. The Top Floor Executive Boardroom got a new 113-inch screen in the existing screen casing and a new amplifier on the existing ceiling speakers; the Management Conference Room kept its Crestron touch screen with a reworked interface; the Executive Video Wall Conference Room kept its lighting system, audio processor, table microphones and rack; the Memphis Community Room kept its two side-wall TVs and ceiling speakers.
Yes. At EPB the existing control system was replaced with a newer Crestron system that runs lighting, audio, video and shades, using the existing rack and the client's iPad as a control surface. The Large Divisible Community Room got a new Crestron processor and a Biamp DSP programmed around its existing microphones, and the Management Conference Room moved to 4K-capable video over IP.

The Chattanooga Real Time Intelligence Center's eighteen-monitor wall was replaced with a 27-display Planar wall in the existing rack; a Knoxville crisis center's video wall was replaced with a larger one and its TVs rehung beside it; and Finley Stadium's aging sound system was replaced, with two of the stadium's newer amplifiers put back to work and a Yamaha Dante console in the press box.
