Switching Inputs on Your Conference Room Display

How to switch between laptop, wireless, and video conference inputs in your meeting room.

Meeting Room Technology

How Input Switching Works

Your conference room display can receive video from multiple sources: a connected laptop (HDMI), a wireless presentation system, a cable box, or a video conferencing camera.

Using the Crestron Keypad

Most Smart Systems conference rooms have a wall-mounted Crestron keypad. Common buttons include:
  • PC / Laptop — Switches to the table HDMI input
  • Wireless — Switches to the WePresent or other wireless presentation system
  • Video Conference — Switches to the conferencing camera and sets up audio
  • Cable / TV — Switches to a cable box or streaming device (if installed)
  • System Off — Shuts down all equipment

Using a Control4 Touchscreen

If your room uses Control4:
  1. Tap the room name on the touchscreen
  2. Select the source from the menu
  3. Use the on-screen controls for volume and other settings

Nothing Happens When I Press a Button

  1. Check the display — make sure it is powered on
  2. Try pressing System Off, wait 10 seconds, then press the source button again
  3. Check the equipment rack — verify the control processor is powered on

When to Contact Smart Systems

If buttons stop working, if you need a new source added, or if the display is not switching inputs correctly.
