Arming and Disarming Your DSC Alarm via Control4

Step-by-step instructions for arming and disarming your DSC alarm using Control4 or the keypad.

Security & Cameras

Using Control4 to Control Your Alarm

When your DSC alarm system is integrated with Control4, you can arm and disarm it from the Control4 app, touchscreen, or remote — in addition to the traditional DSC keypad.

Arming Modes

  • Stay — Arms perimeter sensors (doors, windows) but leaves interior motion sensors inactive. Use this when you are home and going to bed
  • Away — Arms all sensors including interior motion sensors. Use this when leaving the house
  • Night — Similar to Stay but may include specific interior zones. Not all systems have this mode

How to Arm from the Control4 App

  1. Open the Control4 app
  2. Tap Security from the main menu
  3. Select Arm Stay or Arm Away
  4. The system will give an exit delay (usually 60 seconds) for you to leave before arming completes

How to Disarm

  1. Open the Control4 app and tap Security > Disarm
  2. Enter your security code if prompted
  3. Or use the DSC keypad near your door and enter your code

From the DSC Keypad

  • To arm Stay: Enter your code + press Stay
  • To arm Away: Enter your code + press Away (or simply press Away and exit during the delay)
  • To disarm: Enter your code

Important Notes

  • Exit delay — You have a set amount of time to leave after arming. The keypad will beep during this period
  • Entry delay — When you enter through a designated door, you have a set time to disarm before the alarm sounds
  • If the alarm goes off accidentally — Enter your disarm code immediately and call your monitoring company

When to Contact Smart Systems

If you need to change your alarm code, add users, modify zone assignments, or if the Control4 integration stops working.
