Outdoor audio and TV questions
What homeowners ask before adding sound, TV and Wi-Fi to a pool, porch or dock in Chattanooga.
Weather-rated speakers on porches, lanais and patios; landscape speakers and direct-burial subwoofers around pools and putting greens; outdoor-rated TVs in pool houses and on patios; outdoor Wi-Fi access points; cameras; and audio, network and security on boat docks. Each outdoor area is its own zone on the same system as the house.
Equipment is chosen for the exposure. Open-air spots get outdoor-rated SunBrite TVs, as at the Picturesque Outdoor Oasis pool house and the Gorgeous Downtown Penthouse patio; porches get moisture-rated or all-weather speakers. At the Audio Filled Lakeside Paradise the outdoor audio lines have surge suppression and the dock cabinet has power conditioning and a vent fan, and the Integrated Boat Dock cameras have built-in heaters for harsh weather.
Yes. At the Picturesque Outdoor Oasis the pool and putting green are one zone and the pool house another, each playing streaming music or TV audio from the Control4 app, with the landscape lighting on the same system. At the Audio Filled Lakeside Paradise the porches, the pool and the dock each play from the same Sonos app.
Yes. The Integrated Boat Dock runs fiber from the house to a switch in the dock's utility closet, with an outdoor-rated access point for Wi-Fi and an IP power conditioner so the dock equipment can be restarted remotely. At the Picturesque Outdoor Oasis the pool house has its own access point on the home network.
Outdoor zones are quoted with the rest of the property. The whole-home audio page publishes the band, which includes outdoor audio: a 4-zone streaming system starts around $5K–$10K; full-home systems with 8+ zones, outdoor audio and hi-fi listening rooms typically range from $15K–$50K+.
