Wi-Fi Network Not Visible or Can't Connect

Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) isn't showing up on your device, or you can't connect even though you see it.

Network & Wi-Fi

Symptoms

  • Your device doesn't show your network name in the available Wi-Fi list
  • You see the network but get "Unable to connect" or "Authentication failed"

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Restart your device's Wi-Fi — Toggle Wi-Fi off, wait 10 seconds, then toggle it back on.
  2. Move closer to your router or nearest access point — If you're too far away, the signal may not reach.
  3. Power cycle your router — Unplug the power cable, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Allow 2–3 minutes for it to fully restart.
  4. Check if the SSID is hidden — Some networks are configured to not broadcast their name. Try manually adding the network in your device's Wi-Fi settings using the exact network name and password.
  5. Check the access point status — If you have a managed network (UniFi, Ruckus, etc.), log into the controller or app to verify all access points are online.
