How to Connect a New Device to Your Wi-Fi

Step-by-step guide for connecting a new phone, tablet, laptop, smart TV, or IoT device to your home or office network.

Network & Wi-Fi

For Phones, Tablets, and Laptops

  1. Open Settings → Wi-Fi on your device.
  2. Find your network name (SSID) — it may be labeled on your router or in the documentation we provided during installation.
  3. Tap on the network and enter the password.
  4. If the network doesn't appear, make sure you're within range and the SSID isn't hidden.

For Smart TVs and Streaming Devices

  1. Navigate to the device's Network or Internet settings.
  2. Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  3. Some devices (Apple TV, Sonos, etc.) may offer setup via a companion app.

For IoT / Smart Home Devices

  1. Most IoT devices connect to the 2.4 GHz band only. If you have separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, connect to the 2.4 GHz one during setup.
  2. Follow the device manufacturer's app for setup (e.g., Lutron, Sonos, Ring).
  3. Once configured, the device should auto-connect going forward.
