For this project, we focused on two conference rooms, one larger, and one smaller, which affected our decisions for conferencing solutions. In the larger conference room, we opted for a projection system, given the size and depth of the room. In this space, we suspended a high-powered Epson projector from the ceiling to project on a large, motorized screen that we surface mounted to the ceiling, directly above the large windows at the end of the room. For sound, we installed 4 in-ceiling speakers to provide high-quality audio evenly throughout the room.
We then installed a round interface box into the table that connected to the electronics in a nearby cabinet. This box provides a retractable HDMI connection, a USB dongle connection, and a power outlet for users.
We added a new 4K AppleTV, a customer-supplied WePresent, and a customer-supplied PC to a nearby cabinet and interconnected them via a 4x1 HDMI switch. All the devices we connected to the switch can be viewed on the projection screen. To control the room, we went with a Control4 automation system to run all the electronics in the room. To give the room even more one-touch functionality, we placed a configurable keypad on the wall that allows users to select the source to view on the screen, as well as control volume, and control the power.
