Compact Glass Meeting Space

When our local government client approached us needing video for one of its conference rooms, the project seemed very straightforward. But sometimes small scale projects that are seemingly very simple still provide unique challenges.

In this particular situation, the challenge we faced was that this room had glass on all sides. Very cool aesthetically, but we did have to work around that factor. The first thing to consider was that the light that comes into a room without standard walls is simply too bright for projection. So using a TV for the video was the obvious choice. Now, we would typically mount the Sony 65" TV that we used with either a standard tilt mount or articulating mount, but in this case, the only option was to use a tilt ceiling mount, as you can't mount onto glass.

The glass also prevented us from running wire, so basically everything in the room had to be wireless. So we installed a wireless occupancy sensor that turns the TV on and off, and we placed a Crestron Airmedia onto the back of the TV, which allows users to be able to present content wirelessly from any mobile device.

These small challenges allowed us to get creative in order to solve them, and now our client has a user friendly, and inherently more energy efficient conference room.
