Project Showcase: Elegant Tiered Theater

To call this theater elegant is an understatement. From the moment you arrive at the French doors to enter the actual theater, it is immediately apparent that the space will be sophisticated and luxurious. The muted color palette and carefully curated blend of textures come together to provide what is easily one of the most upscale theater-going experiences you could have.

For the 15-seat tiered theater, we installed a 145″ acoustically transparent screen, which is useful in scenarios where we might want to install speakers directly behind the screen. It allows the audio to come through clearly while being fully concealed from view. We paired the screen with a Sony 4K 3D projector. We then placed a Sony Blu-Ray Player and Roku in the theater’s equipment rack to be dedicated sources exclusive to the theater space.

For audio, we delivered a 7.2.4 surround sound system through 7 speakers around the perimeter of the theater, 2 subwoofers, and 4 Atmos overhead speakers.

To light the theater, we placed two 6-button configurable keypad dimmers. Between the two keypads, there are 12 custom control buttons that can be configured and reconfigured based on the client’s desired functionality. Sound, lighting, and all video-related functions can also be controlled by the Control4 remote control.

There is a separate closet that houses the customer’s media collection. This is where we placed the equipment rack that holds the theater A/V equipment. In addition, an IP-controlled power conditioner was placed in the rack to provide a layer of protection against electrical damage, and it allows devices in the theater to be power cycled remotely.

Everything in this project adhered to a very elegant aesthetic, but all of the details behind the scenes ensured streamlined, easy functionality.
