Some projects are just fun spaces to work in. Our client wanted some upgrades performed on his space that houses some impressive collectibles and memorabilia, but it also contains an office space, so for the entire warehouse, we added security, networking, A/V upgrades, and added integrated lighting.
For security, we hardwired a system to protect 3 roll-up doors and 2 walk-in doors. Two dual-tech motion detectors were installed to protect the warehouse area, while eliminating false alarms. We integrated the security system with the Control4 automation system, allowing security to be controlled via the Control4 app. 7 bullet-style IP cameras were located around the interior and exterior of the building and paired to an 8-camera NVR with a 4TB hard drive that records 24/7. These camera feeds are also viewable via the Control4 app.
For network, we installed a gigabit network router to provide high speed internet to the facility. We then added a POE-capable network switch to provide connectivity and power to multiple network-capable devices. A high-speed access point with an omnidirectional antenna was placed on the wall in between the office and warehouse to give ample coverage throughout the building.
For A/V upgrades, we installed a 75" Sony Bravia 4K UHD Smart TV on a tilt mount in the office. We integrated the TV and the satellite box to be able to be controlled with a wireless Control4 remote control. In the warehouse, we mounted another 75" Sony Bravia TV. Two wall-mounted speakers were added to provide additional audio because it is such a large, open space. A combination music streamer/high-powered amplifier power these speakers. Services such as Pandora and Spotify can play through the speakers, or the satellite box audio can be played through them as well.
For lighting, we installed wireless dimmers and a switch to control all of the lighting loads throughout the warehouse. A Control4 automation controller was installed to be able to wirelessly control the lighting via the Control4 App.
Finally, the Control4 apps and remote controls can both control the A/V, the security, and the lighting, but we additionally installed a 10" touchscreen beside the front entrance to have a very simple, straightforward interface for controlling all of these same functions right as you are entering or leaving the "toy box."
