# Memphis Community Room

Versatile community gathering space with full AV capabilities

## About This Project

A corporate community room in Memphis serves as a training space, a meeting room, and an event venue, which means the technology has to be easy for whoever happens to be presenting that day. Working under a long-standing master services agreement with the client, we upgraded the room end to end while keeping the pieces that still worked.

The old 113-inch screen came out and a 123-inch recessed electric screen went in, paired with a 6,000-lumen NEC laser projector on new mounting hardware. The two existing televisions on the side walls stayed, and now always show whatever is on the projector, so overflow seating never misses a slide. At the moderator desk, a Crestron transmitter with a four-input HDMI switch takes the room computer and any visitor's laptop, with a BYOD adapter ring so nobody hunts for a cable.

A Crestron 4K DMPS presentation switcher routes video and audio from the equipment rack, and a Biamp TesiraForte DSP with built-in telephone conferencing mixes the microphones. The room's old in-wall keypad was replaced with the company's standard 10-inch Crestron touch panel; power, source selection, volume, and phone dialing all happen there. Two more wireless handheld microphones were added for a total of three handhelds and one lapel, an Audix system, for panels and question-and-answer sessions.

A ceiling occupancy sensor turns the electronics off when the room empties, a new amplifier drives the existing ceiling speakers, recording connections were added at the rear of the room, and power conditioning protects the rack.
